Barsham Old Hall



Built in 15th century, recently restored, owners have included Sir John Suckling (comptroller to James I) and his son John, the Cavalier poet. Cromwell stationed cavalry here. There is a large herb garden and a nursery with garden, herb and house plants for sale. Visit includes tour of Barsham Church, which has strong Nelson and Trollope connections.
Tour approx 5 hours, £20 including coffee on arrival, buffet lunch followed by coffee, farewell cup of tea (proceeds to church restorations).
