Butley Priory



The gatehouse is all that is left of Butley Priory, the rest destroyed in the Dissolution. Pevsner describes it as ‘one of the most ambitious and interesting buildings of C14 in Suffolk.’ Renowned for its unique flintwork, dating from 1320. Great Hall is vaulted as are other rooms.
Tour approx 1½ hours, £13 including tea/coffee and biscuits. Accommodation.
