Grandcourt Farm

A small early C19 farmhouse of brick and carrstone (local material) that may have been a simple dower house. The parlour with alcoves, door surround and cornice is of the original date. The library/office contains a comprehensive collection of architectural and decorative arts books and magazines. The pictures and objects – in particular ceramics – are from three generations of collecting. The occupier was for many years the owner of an antique shop in London (Gore & Player, Barnes) and many of the interesting items were bought at this time. The yard at the back is flanked by two long cart shed/barns and the isolation of the house adds to its rural charm.
Afternoon tour approx two and a half hours, £15 including cream tea with scones and cake. Morning tour with 3-course lunch approx 3 hours, £25.
