Façade built by Richard Powys ca 1720 conceals E-shape Elizabethan mansion of which chimneybreasts remain. The Drawing Room, built ca 1690, has plaster ceiling 'among the best of late C17 anywhere in East Anglia' (Pevsner). Red Cross hospital WWII; hotel and restaurant since 1972.
