Rippington Manor
Remarkably complete brick-built Tudor manor and grounds of ca 1550. The H-shaped house has an enormous stone chimney breast. Outside, contemporary terrace, walled gardens and fishponds. Built by Julius Caesar (another one) doctor to both Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth I, a descendant of Caesar Aldemare of Padua.
Tour 1½ hours, £12.50 including tea and cakes.
