Somersham Park House



A restored Georgian country house, originally built in 1802 on the site of the Bishops Palace of Ely. The house's residents include Frederick Street (Shire Horse Society), the Special Operation Executive during the 2nd World War. The house was left to the elements in the 1950s and was on the brink of total collapse when purchased in 2002 and restored to a family home. Runner up to Moggerhanger in 2005 Georgian Group Country House Restoration Awards. Tour includes talk on the restoration and house and Palace history.
Proceeds to Thommy Purbrook Memorial Scholarship. Bed and breakfast available.
Tour approx 4 hours, £26 including coffee and cake on arrival and 2-course buffet lunch.
