Talboys, Keevil, Wiltshire
Talboys is one of the oldest properties in Wiltshire. Dating from 1420 in part, the house is timber framed with wattle and daub panels on a dressed limestone plinth. The interiors are interesting and unusual with fine antiques, paintings and curios collected by the owners from their travels in India and the East. Vaulted hall, C15 murals and detailed wood carvings. Many old stained-glass, lead-lined windows.
Very much a family home. Come and see Talboys and enjoy a delicious lunch or tea in the kitchen where Crawfords’ famous biscuits were first created.
The tour will encompass the entire house.
Had a most wonderful afternoon and festive tea at Talboys. Many thanks to the lovely lady owner. A fascinating house ... We had a really interesting and enjoyable visit to Talboys today. Sophie Mowbray was a great guide around her fascinating home – and we had a delicious lunch too.
Talboys is in the middle of Keevil village next door to the school.
